About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Follow batch formulas for proper dispersion into tanks
- Mix raw materials and perform quality control checks
- Perform color matching and tinting using a color spectrophotometer and eye-shading expertise
- Accurately measure materials and deliver them to assigned holding tanks
- Add approved raw materials, colorants, dispersions, thickeners, and thinners according to Central Lab and Quality Assurance Lab formulations
- Transfer completed batches into scheduled tanks for thin-down and color matching/tinting
- Coordinate with Shading, milling, filling, packaging, and other departments during production
- Maintain quality and cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and filters
- Reutilize re-work materials according to approved procedures
- Operate and maintain forklifts and related equipment
- Use electronic gauges, valves, flow meters, temperature controls, transfer equipment, and information systems
- Cross-train and work in other departments as needed
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School degree required
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction
- Previous experience and demonstrated ability to accurately match color specifications
- Ability to work in a team environment and cross-functionally
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and cleanliness
- Ability to use company software and computer system programs
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work safely and follow SOPs
- Ability to operate fill-by-weight machine, Videojet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer, and depalletizer
- Ability to use a respirator and proper PPE, including eye protection and safety shoes
- Ability to stand and climb stairs during an 8–10 hour shift
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs continuously throughout the shift
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs throughout the shift
- Ability to work overtime, up to 4 hours past the regularly scheduled shift, and weekends when required
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting, squatting, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
- Constant standing and walking for 6–8+ hours
- Frequent lifting of 10–75 lbs for 1–8+ hours throughout the shift
- Constant grasping with dominant hand and frequent fine-hand manipulation, pushing, pulling, and reaching
