About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure Benjamin Moore Quality Standards are fully implemented.
- Ensure premium paint products are manufactured according to established processes and finished product specifications.
- Drive continual quality improvement through formula processing optimization and oversight of new formula batch commercialization and scale-up.
- Oversee the plant quality control laboratory and compliance with corporate Quality Standards, SOPs, sampling protocols, and test methods.
- Train lab technicians and operators in corporate quality practices and test methods; provide a quality training plan.
- Monitor the plant Quality System through a plant audit program and ensure SOP compliance and corrective actions.
- Lead root cause investigations for nonconforming batches and implement effective countermeasures.
- Ensure timely, thorough customer complaint investigations.
- Empower quality personnel and operators in quality control practices and support career development.
- Track KPIs and analyze quality data trends to improve batch Right The First Time performance.
- Lead initiatives to reduce batch adjustments, eliminate product actions, and reduce rework scrap.
- Analyze statistical process control data to improve first-run batch capability.
- Liaise with Product Development and Corporate Quality to scale up new and modified formulas.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science Degree.
- 5+ years of experience in quality lab supervision in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of statistics, data collection and analysis, and the ability to examine data and draw accurate meaningful conclusions that can be turned into preventive or corrective actions.
- Extensive experience in plant batch processing and filling operations.
- ASQ certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) or Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus.
