About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure stability, reliability, and timely upgrades of SAP ERP systems hosted on SAP RISE and hyperscaler cloud platforms
  • Provide day-to-day support for SAP ECC 6.0, S/4HANA, BW/BPC, GRC, Fiori, MDG, EWM/TM, PO, Solution Manager, ChaRM, and HANA DB
  • Execute transport management, system monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and error resolution
  • Maintain SAP instances across development, test, training, and production environments
  • Design and implement SAP configurations to maximize performance and availability
  • Install, configure, and manage SAP application servers, HANA/SAP IQ/Sybase ASE databases, and web dispatchers in cloud environments
  • Lead SAP system upgrades, kernel patches, support packages, and enhancement packs
  • Architect and implement HANA 2.0 table partitioning strategies and optimize expensive SQL statements
  • Administer HANA XS/XSA applications and manage load balancers and application security
  • Establish and enforce SAP security processes and governance
  • Implement SAP HANA database encryption and manage certificates and keys
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on rollouts, upgrades, and issue resolution
  • Mentor junior team members and guide technical decisions
  • Drive automation of SAP Basis activities
  • Maintain architecture documentation and infrastructure/networking runbooks
  • Troubleshoot job scheduling, transport management, and printer administration issues
  • Execute transport and correction procedures in compliance with Change Control Board requirements
  • Provide updates on SAP technology forecasts and developments
  • Perform pre- and post-system copy procedures in multi-application SAP and non-SAP environments
  • Resolve SAP application network issues
  • Monitor SAP systems for performance and health

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 12+ years of experience with SAP Enterprise Components, including ECC, S/4HANA, BI, Enterprise Portals, PI/Process Orchestration, BOBJ, BODS, BW, GRC, Fiori, Solution Manager 7.2, and NetWeaver technologies
  • Experience managing SAP ERP systems, including S/4HANA, in hyperscaler clouds (SAP RISE)
  • Expertise in NetWeaver ABAP/JAVA administration and SAP HANA Basis and certificate handling
  • Experience in system integration and interfaces
  • Experience developing and maintaining Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Deep understanding of HANA architecture and hands-on experience with HA/DR, HSR, MDC, and operational/support aspects
  • Experience with HANA database diagnostics files, thread dump analysis, CPU and memory optimization, cluster configuration, and scale-out architecture
  • Experience with SAP application performance optimization, including work process utilization and enqueue analysis
  • Good understanding of critical HANA parameters and their impact
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of technical experience utilizing SAP Basis
  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Strong technical foundation and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Linux (SLES and RHEL) and Windows operating systems
