About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium-sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects
- Lead initiatives spanning the Revenue Cycle continuum, including Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials/Underpayments Management and Recovery, and Patient Financial Services
- Achieve operational and financial performance improvements, including reducing DNFB and A/R days, accelerating cash, increasing insurance verification and Medicaid eligibility conversions, improving timely claim submissions, preventing denials, managing vendor relationships, and decreasing bad debt
- Lead current-state assessments, opportunity quantification analyses, and actionable recommendations
- Create project charters, workplans, realization schedules, benefit tracking tools, client deliverables, and transition planning documents
- Delegate assignments, instruct and monitor progress, and review staff work products
- Develop analyses and financial models using transactional and/or financial data
- Develop and maintain benefit realization models and monitor project performance against operational and financial targets
- Generate client deliverables and contribute to practice articles and whitepapers
- Manage senior-level client relationships and communicate results to executive stakeholders
- Use relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions
- Participate in practice meetings, business development initiatives, staff training, and recruiting
- Adhere to project budgets and hours while meeting goals and deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 - 8+ years of healthcare industry or consulting experience in Revenue Cycle operations, including performance improvement and process re-engineering, revenue management and redesign, and reimbursement and recovery strategies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g., BS, BBA, MBA, MHA, M.A., M.S., etc.) with a preferred focus in Management, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Applicable industry certification is preferred (e.g., CRCR, CHFP, CHAM, CRCE-I, CRCE-P, etc.)
- Extensive operational expertise in Revenue Cycle functions, including Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials/Underpayments Management and Recovery, or Patient Financial Services
- Strong project management experience and proven success contributing to assessments and project implementations
- Experience leveraging revenue cycle technologies, automation tools, AI-enabled workflows, and analytics platforms
- Ability to draft work plans, project budgets, timelines, and deliverables
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage team and client relationships
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to present findings and recommendations to senior healthcare leaders
- Ability to succeed in a high-performance, rapid team environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, mentor junior consultants, and manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, MEDITECH, and Athena/IDX is desired
- Willingness to travel consistently 50%–80%, depending on project requirements and client expectations
- Ability to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
