About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead or support Medicaid client initiatives as a subject matter expert and project manager
- Develop program and policy recommendations, 1915c waiver amendments, complex analyses, status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations
- Support implementation of waivers for children with serious emotional disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Build relationships with client contacts, stakeholders, federal partners, vendor contacts, and project team members
- Communicate project and delivery status to clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Develop a personal career plan and mentor BerryDunn team members
- Participate in marketing and business development activities, including blog writing, conferences, RFP reviews, and go/no-go decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years relevant professional experience in state or federal government, healthcare, and/or consulting
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly for, or consulting directly with, a State Medicaid agency
- Experience with Medicaid programs and policy
- Experience developing and/or implementing Medicaid programs and enhancements
- Experience interpreting and analyzing federal laws and regulations and documenting compliance recommendations
- Experience researching and developing State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and 1915c waivers
- Experience developing health and human services programs with home and community based services (HCBS) focused on children, youth, and families
- Experience analyzing quality measures and applying performance change
- Stakeholder engagement, research, and meeting facilitation skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in a deadline-focused environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
