About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individualized, high-quality ambulatory patient care under the supervision of the Administrative Director and in collaboration with ambulatory nursing leadership
- Plan and coordinate patient care with physicians, healthcare providers, ambulatory support staff, and other disciplines
- Perform systematic patient and family assessments and record health data
- Analyze and interpret recorded data and make nursing-care judgments
- Develop culturally competent plans of care with patient problems, expected outcomes, and preventative measures
- Assess caller signs and symptoms telephonically
- Evaluate care effectiveness and adapt plans based on patient and family response
- Provide physical care, activities of daily living, positioning, transportation, treatments, and equipment utilization
- Monitor patients, recognize acute changes, and intervene appropriately
- Administer medications, including blood and blood products
- Educate patients and families about illness, treatment, and preventative measures
- Collaborate and communicate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Delegate and supervise nursing tasks, including assignments, teaching, direction, supervision, and delegation outcomes
- Maintain regulatory compliance, readiness, quality nursing standards, and evidence-based practice
- Serve as a patient advocate and support lifelong learning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
- BLS certification with American Heart Association
- Necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge according to Nursing Policy and Procedures
- Necessary clinical skills and knowledge according to clinic-specific competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Acute care medical-surgical experience
- Achieves and maintains ACLS certification as required by departmental standards
- Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
