About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures on adult inpatients and outpatients
- Perform all echocardiography testing procedures listed in department protocols
- Perform diagnostic exercise/pharmacological stress echocardiograms and produce accurate clinical information for cardiologists
- Respond to cardiac arrests as required
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Troubleshoot technical methods of echocardiography
- Ensure a safe testing environment in daily operations
- Retrieve and send data using clinical and financial information systems
- Understand physician orders and appropriate documentation
- Ensure adequate documentation in the medical record and test report according to department policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively to promote teamwork and team problem-solving
- Adapt to and work effectively in varied situations and settings
- Provide explanations of preparation for testing procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- New grads welcome
- Must perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures on adult inpatients and outpatients
- Ability to perform Transthoracic Echo, Transesophageal Echo, and Stress Echo
- Ability to perform diagnostic exercise/pharmacological stress echocardiograms
- Ability to respond to cardiac arrests as required
- Participation in the on-call rotation
- Ability to troubleshoot technical methods of echocardiography
- Ability to retrieve and send data using clinical and financial information systems
- Understanding of physician orders and appropriate documentation
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in varied situations and settings, including special precautions, disabled patients, and dialysis patients
- Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
