About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with primary care providers to recognize and treat mental health disorders and substance abuse
- Identify, triage, and manage patients in primary care settings
- Provide short-term therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities
- Conduct behavioral health screenings to identify level of care
- Find resources and develop treatment plans
- Review medical records before initial evaluations
- Assess patients for behavioral health and substance use disorders
- Design behavioral health treatment plans with the primary care treatment team
- Design and deliver behavioral health and substance use education curricula for staff and providers
- Complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes and organizational policies
- Develop a supervision plan and meet regularly with the supervisor
- Maintain effective relationships with healthcare stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data
Requirements
What you’ll need- Full time 40 hours, Monday-Friday
- Master's degree in Social Work or other directly-related Human Service discipline
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) required
- Assess patients for behavioral health disorders and the continuum of substance use disorders
- Clinical skills in brief treatment approaches including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Problem-Solving Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Behavioral Activation and Psycho-Education
- Knowledge of or ability to learn insurance standards for both commercial insurances and Mass Health products
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, visitors, external providers, regulatory bodies, and the broader health care community
- Ability to work collaboratively, flexibly, proactively, and independently
