About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform ultrasound examinations under the administrative direction of office management
  • Review medical records for patient history and supporting clinical data
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide support and comfort
  • Select equipment and imaging parameters for optimum diagnostic studies
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and evaluate scan accuracy and quality
  • Record preliminary study results, measurements, and labels
  • Present studies to Radiologists for interpretation
  • Consult Radiologists about unusual scans and rescanning needs
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and recognize malfunctions requiring service
  • Maintain quality control procedures
  • Order and maintain supplies and keep ultrasound suites orderly
  • Perform assigned duties associated with interventional procedures
  • Stay current on imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment through manuals and technical journals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • MIRT License
  • Ultrasound Tech - RDMS or eligible
  • RVT or RVT eligible where applicable
  • Must be certified/registered within 18 months of hire
  • CPR certified within 90 days of hire
  • Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology and/or physiological data
  • Competency in applicable computer information systems
  • Must participate in continuing education programs meeting national CE credit requirements
