About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide compassionate personal care and homemaker services to hospice patients
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, skin care, mobility, transfers, and feeding
  • Assist with cuing of self-administered medications
  • Observe, report, and document patient status and care provided
  • Take and record vital signs as directed
  • Practice basic infection control procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment
  • Recognize emergencies and contact emergency personnel and supervisor when necessary
  • Document patient functioning and changes for the hospice nurse case manager
  • Treat patients and their property with respect
  • Understand the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of served populations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid MA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification OR Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate required
  • Appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency for safe transfers and vital-sign measurement
  • Ability to work Weekend Baylor schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 8a–8p
  • Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
