About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a personal prospect pool and secure annual or multi-year gifts
- Qualify, cultivate, and solicit annual leadership-level donations of $1,000+
- Participate in prospect pool development and assignment strategies
- Conduct discovery calls with prospective donors
- Hold face-to-face meetings to educate, engage, and cultivate prospective and current donors
- Collaborate with major gifts staff to transition prospects toward major-gift philanthropy
- Execute events and programs supporting development activities
- Engage volunteers and use events to advance solicitations
- Manage former major-gift prospects toward leadership giving
- Liaise between the Office of Philanthropy and BILH divisions and units
- Meet office and professional standards for metrics and reporting
- Apply industry best practices to improve leadership-gifts results
- Assist with development, stewardship, and campaign activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 1–3 years related work experience required
- At least two years of direct fundraising/development experience preferred, with a track record in individual gift solicitation, planned giving, and volunteer management
- Ability to travel to meet donors
- Experience working with donors in a front-line/fundraising capacity
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access, and other web-based applications
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams
- Ability to provide professional, service-oriented customer service
- Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
