About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess individuals for massage and gather information to develop favorable therapy outcomes
  • Demonstrate proficiency in relaxation and other specific massage techniques
  • Provide massage according to required standards on an outpatient basis
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Clean therapy tables and report damaged equipment to the supervisor
  • Monitor supply levels and notify administrative staff to order and stock supplies
  • Document patient visits using EPIC
  • Respond flexibly to patients’ and hospital’s changing or unanticipated needs
  • Report to the Admin Director of Operations
  • Do not supervise the work of others

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Massage Therapy Certificate
  • At least one year in pregnancy massage and/or massage for cancer patients
  • Experience with Swedish, deep tissue/trigger point massage, and sports massage
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow hospital team members
  • Massachusetts Massage Therapy License
  • National Certification Board for Therapeutic and Bodywork (NCTMB) preferred
  • Ability to perform the physical and mental duties of the position
  • Must be able to work around blood or other potentially infectious materials
