About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a communication resource and accurately collect and prioritize patient information
- Respond to phone calls and patient requests
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Obtain vital signs and perform EKGs, injections, phlebotomy, screenings, lab tests, and specimen collection
- Assist providers with routine procedures under proper supervision
- Provide instructions for tests and procedures
- Schedule follow-up tests and appointments and arrange patient transport
- Sort and distribute lab results to physicians or nurse practitioners
- Maintain patient confidentiality and procure and organize medical records
- Update medications in the EMR system
- Ensure equipment, supplies, and exam rooms are clean, organized, stocked, and usable
- Track, order, and maintain supplies and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- Written English communication skills
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English
- Full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams
- Customer service, active listening, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment
