About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality service to patients and contribute to smooth practice operations
- Serve as a communication resource and collect, prioritize, and communicate patient information
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, injections, phlebotomy, screenings, lab tests, and specimen collection
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine procedures
- Provide instructions for tests and procedures
- Schedule follow-up tests and appointments and arrange patient transport
- Sort and distribute lab results to appropriate clinicians
- Maintain patient confidentiality and procure and organize medical records
- Add medications to patient records in the EMR system
- Ensure equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and safe patient access
- Track, order, maintain, and restock supplies and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English
- Full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams
- Ability to provide professional, service-oriented customer service
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
