About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individualized, high-quality ambulatory patient care
- Assess patients and families systematically and record health data
- Analyze and interpret clinical data and make nursing-care judgments
- Develop culturally competent plans of care and preventive measures
- Assess caller signs and symptoms telephonically
- Evaluate care effectiveness and adapt plans based on patient/family response
- Provide physical care, ADLs, positioning, transportation, treatments, equipment use, and medication administration including blood products
- Monitor acute patient changes and intervene appropriately
- Educate patients and families about illness, treatment, and prevention
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, healthcare providers, support staff, and other disciplines
- Coordinate care across the continuum and delegate/supervise appropriately
- Serve as patient advocate and nurse teacher
- Participate in quality improvement, mandatory education, and community-based activities
- Maintain confidentiality, policy compliance, customer service standards, and regulatory readiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
- BLS certification with American Heart Association
- Necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge according to Nursing Policy and Procedures
- Necessary clinical skills and knowledge according to clinic-specific competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Acute care medical-surgical experience
- Variable shifts/40 hours, including weekend and holiday coverage
- ACLS certification as required by departmental standards
- Compliance with Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
