About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care for physical diagnosis and therapeutic management independently, using physician consultation when appropriate
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for a panel of patients
  • Elicit patient histories, perform physical examinations, order screening and diagnostic tests, conduct risk assessments, and establish diagnoses
  • Develop and implement plans of care, including treatments and medications within defined practice guidelines
  • Deliver patient-centered, cost-effective care
  • Participate in developing and evaluating practice guidelines
  • Monitor responses to therapy and revise care plans as indicated
  • Educate and counsel patients, encourage self-care, and provide individualized orientation to APG/BIDCO
  • Consult with physicians and healthcare team members and make appropriate referrals
  • Identify patient and staff learning needs and collaborate on educational priorities
  • Participate in interdisciplinary education programs and provide clinical precepting for students
  • Provide leadership supporting APG and BIDHC practice policies and goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Nursing required
  • Nursing License required
  • Basic Life Support Certificate required
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
  • MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG
  • American Heart Association-Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications, required
  • Ability to communicate complex information in English in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to provide patient care to neonatal, youth, young adult, middle-age, and elderly age groups
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently; able to stand and/or move around through most of the shift
