About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enter new and refill orders accurately and timely
- Resolve PBM-related billing problems and issues
- Handle phone inquiries and initial prescription intake
- Communicate with providers, prescribers, and patients
- Cross-train in different facility roles and remain flexible to organizational needs
- Answer inbound calls and assist customers with pharmacy-related services
- Obtain and verify client information by telephone
- Contact patients to schedule medication deliveries and verify addresses
- Escalate clinical inquiries to pharmacists and grievances to supervisors
- Maintain patient profiles and enter new prescriptions
- Process high-volume calls professionally using phone scripts and triage guidelines
- Determine appointment type, provider, and urgency within scope of knowledge and authority
- Assist patients with manufacturer and nonprofit copay assistance enrollment
- Support providers with prior authorizations and appeals
- Manage mail and delivery of prescription orders and resolve delivery issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- Registration Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech required
- 1-3 years related work experience required
- Basic familiarity with computers
- Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Call center, pharmacy data entry, and PBM billing experience preferred
- Bilingual verbal and written communication preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams
- Ability to stand and/or move around through the majority of the shift
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
