About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform history and physical examinations
  • Formulate care plans

  • See patients for post-operative visits, follow-up care, evaluations, and injections
  • Maintain an autonomous patient panel and schedule with direct physician support available
  • Partner with a surgeon specializing in general Orthopaedics, sports-related procedures, shoulder replacements, and total knee replacements
  • Educate and serve as a clinical resource for staff through consultation, education, literature review, seminars, and conferences
  • Coordinate safe, effective, efficient, timely, patient-centered care
  • Liaise between visiting nurses, clinical staff, and consult services
  • Consult physicians or surgeons on complex diagnoses
  • Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely, and promptly
  • Collaborate with health professionals to determine patient and family health needs
  • Demonstrate and role-model an interdisciplinary approach to patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant required
  • Physician Assistant License required
  • Registration DPH Drug Control required
  • Basic Life Support Certificate required
  • 0-1 years related work experience required
  • ARC-PA certification
  • NCCPA certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to communicate in English in written and oral formats
  • Ability to provide care to neonatal, young adult, middle-aged, and elderly patients
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently; ability to stand and/or move through most of the shift
