About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform a wide variety of fluoroscopic GI/GU and MSK procedures for diagnosis and treatment
- Present fluoroscopic examination images for interpretation and dictate preliminary results for the Attending Radiologist to finalize
- Assist the Attending Radiologist in training Radiology Residents during fluoroscopic rotation
- Practice radiation protection and safety protocols for self, staff, and patients
- Practice ALARA in the fluoroscopic suite consistent with NRC and DPH guidelines
- Instruct Technologists and Fluoro Aides assisting with examinations/procedures
- Potentially participate in interventional procedures
- Follow up chart review on ABN
- Answer and transfer incoming telephone calls according to Lahey Clinic guidelines
- Set up and maintain assigned voice mailboxes
- Handle confidential information according to department and Clinic policy
- Keep current on department and Clinic activities through communications and literature
- Participate in quality improvement activities and mandatory education
- Perform other duties as needed or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of a recognized RPA (CBRPA) or RRA (ARRT) program
- Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technologist Program
- RPA and RRA must hold National Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (RTR/ARRT) in good standing
- RPA and RRA must hold Massachusetts Registered Radiologic Technologist certification (RTR/Mass Radiation Control Board) in good standing
- RPA and RRA must hold a Massachusetts state license for advanced practice recognized by the State Radiation Control Board as Radiologist Assistants
- RPA must hold national CBRPA certification in good standing
- RPA must hold ACLS certification
- RRA must hold national ARRT certification in good standing
- Experience performing GI/GU and MSK exams/procedures
- Ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards
- Good communication skills
