About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform telephone triage and patient assessment
  • Provide patient care, including immunizations, allergy injections, blood draws, vital signs, treatments, medication administration, and blood products
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms and restock supplies
  • Process prescription refills through the electronic medical record
  • Assess patients and families, interpret clinical data, and make nursing-care judgments
  • Monitor patients for acute changes and intervene appropriately
  • Educate and counsel patients and families about illness, treatment, and prevention
  • Evaluate care effectiveness and adapt plans based on patient or family response
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, healthcare providers, and clinical support staff to coordinate quality and continuity of care
  • Serve as a patient advocate and uphold nursing-care, regulatory-compliance, and safety standards
  • Support community-based activities and demonstrate evidence-based practice and lifelong learning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN license to practice in Massachusetts
  • Must maintain BLS certification
  • Medical Office experience is preferred
  • Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment
