About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide individualized, high-quality ambulatory patient care
  • Assess patients and families systematically and record health data
  • Analyze and interpret clinical data and determine nursing care needs
  • Develop culturally competent plans of care with expected outcomes and preventative measures
  • Perform telephonic assessment of caller signs and symptoms
  • Evaluate care effectiveness and adapt plans based on patient/family response
  • Provide physical care, including activities of daily living, positioning, transporting, and treatments
  • Utilize and transport equipment
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to acute patient changes
  • Administer medications, including blood and blood products
  • Educate patients and families about illness, treatment, and prevention
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Delegate and supervise nursing care in accordance with Massachusetts regulations and ANA principles
  • Develop patient care assignments and teach, direct, and supervise delegates
  • Serve as patient advocate
  • Uphold quality nursing care, evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and lifelong learning
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and mandatory education

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing
  • Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
  • BLS certification with American Heart Association
  • Necessary clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide patient care according to Nursing Policy and Procedures
  • Necessary clinical skills and knowledge according to clinic-specific competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Acute care medical-surgical experience
  • ACLS certification as required by departmental standards
  • Variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Per-diem availability
  • Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
