About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Register new and established outpatients upon arrival
- Verify and collect co-payments and update required information
- Collect and data-enter information accurately
- Status appointments at check-in and ensure all appointments are statused by the end of the business day
- Enter future appointment requests and record patient preferences or exclusions
- Schedule multiple appointments in the proper sequence and within appropriate time frames
- Round with patients in waiting areas and provide updates about appointment wait times and changes
- Monitor patient waiting areas for cleanliness and appearance
- Collaborate with the Access Center at LHMC to schedule patients and create access
- Meet established department productivity standards
- Work on scheduling work queues and recall lists by calling patients to arrange appointments
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- 0-1 years related work experience required
- Experience with computer systems, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English
- Ability to make decisions guided by general instructions and practices
- Problem-solving ability requiring analysis or interpretation
- Ability to follow precedents and procedures, set priorities, and organize work
- Ability to work collaboratively in small teams
- Ability to provide professional, respectful, high-level customer service
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to perform constant sitting, fine manipulation using both hands, and keyboard use
- Availability for variable shifts, including weekends
- Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment
