About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate scheduling for patient procedures and services in the Gynecology Department
  • Schedule patients for procedures, post-operative appointments, pre-admission testing, testing, surgery, follow-up, and wait-list processes
  • Notify patients of scheduled procedures and provide complete procedure, location, time, testing, and surgery information
  • Maintain scheduling applications and patient data
  • Schedule procedure locations, medical staff, and clinical resources
  • Complete journal entries and maintain accurate patient demographic data
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to obtain resources
  • Maintain physician and/or surgeon schedules
  • Communicate daily schedules, review them with advisors, update staff with revisions, and post schedules
  • Liaise with internal departments, external resources, and agencies
  • Ensure paperwork is complete and preauthorization is obtained
  • Obtain and process procedure referrals
  • Document procedures and resources; track services, procedures, and equipment usage
  • Generate logs for review and enter revisions
  • Coordinate vendor equipment delivery and delivery to patients' residences
  • Ensure resources for procedures are maintained and available

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years related work experience required
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
  • Staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment
