About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule patients for procedures, post-operative appointments, preparation instructions, follow-up, and wait-list processes
- Notify patients of scheduled procedures
- Provide complete and timely procedure, location, time, and requirement details to patients
- Maintain multiple scheduling and patient-data applications
- Schedule procedures, medical staff, and clinical resources
- Complete accurate and timely journal entries
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to obtain resources
- Maintain physician and/or surgeon schedules
- Register patients and accurately enter demographic data
- Communicate daily schedules, review them with the advisor/manager, update staff on revisions, and post schedules
- Act as liaison with internal departments and external resources and agencies
- Provide ongoing scheduler training in collaboration with the manager/advisor
- Perform other duties as needed or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Graduate
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical environment
- Previous experience in a leadership position
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Exceptional patient relation and customer service skills
- Familiarity with computer systems and data entry
- Windows Knowledge
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service driven/focused
- Ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards in the absence of listed skills
