About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and own the analytics strategy for Sports, aligned with BetMGM's corporate strategy and business goals
Define and govern methodological standards for advanced modelling, statistical experimentation, measurement frameworks, and analytical quality
Lead complex, high-impact analytical models, including propensity, predictive, segmentation, bonus, and promotional evaluation models
Innovate with machine learning, Bayesian inference, causal modelling, survival analysis, and real-time streaming analytics
Serve as the organizational authority on sports wagering data structures, market logic, and bet type classification
Drive enterprise-wide data quality initiatives, including cataloguing, metadata, lineage tracking, and ETL/ELT optimisation
Operationalise analytical outputs across trading, product, finance, operations, and compliance
Establish the company-wide approach to statistical experimentation and impact measurement
Analyse strategic commercial priorities such as player economics, revenue concentration, VIP retention, promotions, and pricing changes
Originate analytical opportunities and manage a portfolio of high-impact workstreams with executive stakeholder accountability
Present findings and strategic recommendations to SLT and executive audiences
Advise commercial, product, trading, and finance leadership on data-informed strategic decisions
Lead and develop analysts across seniority levels and mentor the broader Data Analytics community
Maintain trusted-adviser relationships with executive stakeholders and identify future opportunities
Lead change management initiatives within the data department
Build and scale automation solutions and self-serve analytical capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of commercial experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence
Demonstrable track record of leading enterprise-scale, cross-functional analytical programmes independently and with executive accountability
Mastery of SQL, Python (or R), and data visualisation tools
Extensive experience building, deploying, and operationalising production-quality analytical models at scale
Proven track record of developing and executing analytics strategy aligned to business goals
Experience leading and delivering a portfolio of complex, high-impact projects simultaneously
Expert statistical foundation, including experimental design, causal inference methods, regression modelling, clustering, forecasting, and econometrics
Experience designing and deploying advanced segmentation, propensity, predictive, and causal models in a commercial environment
Ability to operate as the most senior individual contributor in an analytics function
Exceptional communication skills and strong executive presence
Deep expertise in machine learning, Bayesian inference, survival analysis, and reinforcement learning applied to customer or wagering data
Broad and deep knowledge of major professional sports leagues, betting markets, US sports wagering regulations, and the competitive iGaming landscape
Experience mentoring and developing analysts across multiple seniority levels
Strong working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake and DBT
Experience leading data quality, governance, and pipeline optimisation initiatives
Prior experience in a regulated sports betting or iGaming environment is preferred
Business standard use of the English language
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship; this role is not eligible for immigration-related employment authorization sponsorship
Applicable gaming licensing requirements, including comprehensive background checks
