About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell the full line of nutritional and food supplement products, including new products, to retailers and buyers
- Determine customer needs and sales potential
- Educate customers and retailers about company products, services, and prices
- Build customer relationships and handle customer service situations
- Travel frequently to evaluate and enhance current and prospective sales
- Prepare business transaction reports and maintain expense accounts
- Work with the sales team to expand and serve the customer base
- Identify growth opportunities within assigned stores and work with buyers to achieve growth
- Schedule appointments with health food store retailers and buyers
- Conduct product demonstrations for retailers and consumers
- Conduct store inventories as needed
- Participate in monthly sales representative teleconferences, regional meetings, and annual meetings
- Support company, department, and safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- One to two years of related experience
- Knowledge of basic computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Strong presentation skills
- Continual attention to detail while establishing priorities and meeting sales goals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions
- Willingness to work out of a home office
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, including occasionally exerting up to 20 lbs. of force and frequently up to 10 lbs.
