About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build pipeline from scratch across a targeted list of K-12 districts
- Proactively identify prospects, open conversations and create new business opportunities
- Own the full sales cycle from discovery, demonstration and proposal through negotiation and close
- Deliver against sales targets
- Build relationships with CTOs, IT Directors, Technology Directors and other senior district technology leaders
- Understand customer challenges and position Secure Schools as the right solution
- Own RFP responses end-to-end, including narrative, pricing, security and data privacy sections and final submission
- Structure and close pilot and proof-of-value engagements with clear conversion terms
- Use purchasing co-ops, state procurement vehicles and other contract routes
- Build relationships with business offices, superintendents and boards alongside technology stakeholders
- Attend national and state conferences to generate pipeline, build relationships and increase market awareness
- Turn early customers into references and case studies
- Work with the Co-Founder and CEO to share market insight and customer feedback and shape the US go-to-market approach
- Document effective practices and develop a sales playbook for future hires and scalable US sales operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience of building pipeline from nothing and consistently generating new business
- Experience selling to K-12 districts, ideally with an existing network of CTOs, IT Directors, Technology Directors or other senior technology decision-makers
- Experience selling SaaS into K-12 districts, or another public-sector or education vertical
- A strong track record of owning the full sales cycle and delivering against targets, from prospecting through to close
- Technical credibility with senior technology leaders
- Experience managing RFPs and formal tender processes
- Strong written communication skills
- Familiarity with purchasing co-ops, state contract vehicles and public-sector procurement processes would be a strong advantage
- Experience selling security, compliance or assurance products would be advantageous
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to develop trust through longer, relationship-driven sales cycles
- Commercially driven and target-focused
- Highly proactive and self-motivated
- Organised and disciplined, able to manage a large territory, multiple opportunities and a significant prospect list
- Resourceful and adaptable, able to work independently, solve problems and make decisions
- Comfortable working closely with a founder while taking ownership of a market, territory and results
- Willingness to travel for conferences, customer meetings and other opportunities across the US
- Ambitious and excited to join a mission-led business at an early stage
- Motivated to build a US sales organisation from the ground up
