About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a new cross-product SRE team responsible for AWS GovCloud environments supporting BeyondTrust products entering FedRAMP authorization
- Own reliability, change control, continuous compliance, and shared operational work for covered environments
- Build and operate AWS GovCloud landing zones, including multi-account structures, SCPs, guardrails, logging, and security tooling
- Own the automated FedRAMP 20x continuous-compliance evidence pipeline and monthly monitoring obligations
- Own CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, security and quality gates, and cloud cost visibility
- Govern production changes with auditable separation of development and production duties
- Own release, patch, update, incident-management, on-call, and post-incident processes
- Drive automated promotion from development through staging to production
- Run intake and prioritization for operational requests from feature teams and leadership
- Lead DevOps, SRE, and security automation engineers; establish accountability, delivery rhythms, planning cycles, and team-health visibility
- Partner with the VP of Application Engineering on workforce planning, hiring, role design, and onboarding
Requirements
What you’ll need- Staff-level technical depth and ability to critically review Terraform, pipeline definitions, and architecture proposals
- Hands-on experience building and operating reliability and compliance machinery
- People-management experience hiring, developing, and leading a small SRE or DevOps team
- Experience with AWS GovCloud environments and FedRAMP authorization/compliance
- Experience with FedRAMP 20x Key Security Indicators and standard schema
- Experience with multi-account AWS landing zones, SCPs, guardrails, logging, and security tooling
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code provisioning
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, build signing, artifact management, quality and security gates
- Experience with production change governance, access controls, approval standards, and separation of duties
- Experience with cloud fleet release and update machinery, staged rollouts, golden images, and fleet upgrade orchestration at hundreds-to-thousands scale
- Experience with incident management, on-call design, and post-incident reviews
- Experience leading DevOps, SRE, and security automation engineers
- Ability to manage intake, prioritization, team capacity, workforce planning, hiring, role design, and onboarding
