About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and operate AWS GovCloud environments, including multi-account structures, guardrails, logging, security tooling, and Terraform-based provisioning
  • Build and run release and update machinery for cloud fleets, including mandatory security updates, staged and jittered rollout windows, coordinated installs, and verification
  • Build a continuous-compliance evidence pipeline for FedRAMP 20x Key Security Indicators
  • Collect, normalize, re-verify, and report machine-readable compliance evidence
  • Instrument production with telemetry, SLOs, dashboards, and alerting
  • Consolidate CI/CD pipelines for build, signing, artifact management, quality gates, and security scanning
  • Participate in on-call for the GovCloud estate and engineer away recurring incident causes
  • Own reliability, change control, and continuous-compliance machinery for AWS GovCloud environments
  • Report to the SRE Manager within the VP of Application Engineering’s organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US-based; standard US-person requirements for federal environments apply
  • Experience building or operating inside a FedRAMP Moderate or High boundary, or IL4/IL5 or StateRAMP equivalent
  • Experience with continuous monitoring, POA&M lifecycle, patch SLAs, and 3PAO engagement
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud, multi-account landing zones, FIPS endpoints, and crypto modes
  • Experience with VM fleet or appliance-model operations at scale, not only Kubernetes
  • Experience owning telemetry and data pipelines, including OTEL and Grafana-class stacks
  • Experience with compliance-as-code and evidence automation, including OSCAL, machine-readable ConMon, AWS Config rules, or OPA at scale
  • Experience building test and verification engineering harnesses
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, security tooling, staged rollouts, and fleet patch verification
  • Ability to participate in on-call for the GovCloud estate
