Senior Commercial General Liability Claims Representative – Property Damage

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Directly handle business owner liability claims
- Manage an active desk of general liability property damage claims under business owner policies
- Analyze coverage issues under Business Owners Coverage Form, Excess and Umbrella Coverage Form, Garagekeepers, Hired/Non-owned Auto, Auto Services, and other standard industry forms
- Analyze, investigate, and evaluate new loss notices and claim tenders
- Handle litigated claims and coordinate and strategize with defense counsel
- Analyze and position claims under applicable coverage
- Collaborate on setting appropriate claim reserves
- Exercise good judgment in managing ALAE during claims investigation
- Document claim files according to established guidelines
- Draft coverage letters
- Evaluate claims and communicate frequently with attorneys and various parties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proper grammar usage and clear, concise information delivery

- Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines
- Promptly responds to inquiries with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively
- Ability to multi-task and effectively deal with interruptions
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and internet applications
- Highly attentive to details
- Able to work under pressure and exercise good judgment in sensitive situations
- BA/BS degree plus 5 years of prior general liability claims adjusting experience preferred
- 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in general liability claims, can substitute for a bachelor's degree
- CPCU or other industry designation is a plus
- State adjuster license(s) required
- Experience in litigated liability property damage/construction defects claims required
- Knowledge of standard industry liability forms
- Must obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required
