About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee order management and revenue operations
- Ensure customer contracts are booked accurately and revenue is recognized correctly
- Ensure the order-to-cash process runs smoothly
- Lead the team responsible for order management and revenue accounting
- Own and maintain the formal revenue recognition policy
- Research and document technical accounting positions and memoranda
- Own standalone selling price methodologies and allocation approaches
- Lead review of complex and strategic customer contracts and advise on deal structure
- Partner with Legal, Sales, and Order Management on deal structuring
- Own the monthly revenue close, including flux/variance analysis
- Prepare revenue movement explanations for executive and board-level audiences
- Own deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract asset/liability reconciliations
- Design and improve internal controls over the quote-to-cash cycle
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors on revenue matters
- Prepare revenue-related financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules
- Deliver management reporting and analysis for FP&A, executives, and the board
- Lead automation and process-transformation initiatives across revenue close and order-to-cash
- Use AI tools for contract term extraction, reconciliation matching, anomaly detection, and variance narratives
- Drive the roadmap for revenue-related systems improvements with Engineering/Business Systems
- Maintain fluency in ERP, CRM, and revenue subledger systems, including system integrations or migrations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting, order management, or a related accounting function
- Track record driving AI adoption across a team or function, using AI tools to automate order processing and revenue recognition workflows
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application to SaaS or subscription contracts
- Experience managing or leading a team of accounting or order management professionals
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and FP&A
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of managing accurate, timely month-end close processes
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred
- Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or subscription-based business models preferred
- Experience with ERP and CPQ systems preferred
- Familiarity with AI-powered accounting or revenue automation tools preferred
