About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and continuously improve Environmental, Health, and Safety programs
  • Advise leadership and staff across multiple sites on EHS-related matters
  • Develop and implement safety management systems aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations
  • Lead development of EHS policies and training programs
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality controls, water pollution prevention, hazardous material handling, and permitting
  • Collaborate on safety and environmental improvements involving new equipment, plant expansions, and process changes
  • Monitor workplace conditions and conduct safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments
  • Lead safety audits and coordinate remediation plans
  • Partner with department managers to drive employee engagement in EHS programs
  • Report EHS metrics and performance data to senior leadership
  • Participate in sustainability initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced EHS Specialist from the Minneapolis area
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience managing EHS programs in industrial settings
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations
  • Previous experience in multi-site operations
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to identify risks and develop strategic EHS solutions
  • Skilled in conducting root cause analysis and developing effective corrective actions
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
  • Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence change across all levels of an organization
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Occasional availability to support other shifts, including nights or weekends
  • Occasional travel within the US may be required
