About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead an enterprise Procurement team responsible for category strategy, sourcing execution, supplier relationship management, and value delivery across Human Resources and Professional Services spend
  • Provide people leadership, coaching, prioritization, and direction to three direct reports and cross-functional category teams
  • Lead complex sourcing, negotiation, and contracting strategies, including RFx development, supplier selection, commercial modeling, and negotiation planning
  • Set category priorities, remove execution roadblocks, and align sourcing strategies with stakeholder roadmaps and enterprise Procurement priorities
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, shape demand, lead sourcing events, and coordinate supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting decisions
  • Build trusted senior stakeholder relationships and identify value creation opportunities using spend, supplier, market, and demand insights
  • Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships through business reviews, performance scorecards, issue resolution, innovation roadmaps, and risk mitigation
  • Determine negotiation strategy, supplier segmentation approach, and recommended sourcing models
  • Approve team operating cadence, category performance reporting, stakeholder business review content, supplier performance actions, and continuous improvement priorities
  • Promote preferred supplier usage, guided buying, catalogs, contract compliance, and efficient buying channels in partnership with Procurement Operations
  • Deliver sustainable value through stakeholder experience, supplier governance, risk reduction, responsible sourcing, process efficiency, and innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Life Sciences, or a related discipline required
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, consulting, or a related business discipline
  • Meaningful experience with Human Resources and/or Professional Services categories
  • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated industry preferred
  • Experience with procurement platforms preferred
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management tools preferred
  • Experience with eSourcing technology preferred
  • Experience with supplier performance management processes preferred
  • CPSM, CIPS, CPM, or equivalent professional credentials preferred
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • Ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Commercial judgment and ability to coach others and influence senior stakeholders
