About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support development and implementation of the US Medical Strategy for SMA and ALS therapeutic areas
- Contribute to development and execution of US medical strategy and tactics for Rare Disease assets and pipeline programs
- Serve as a key US Medical contact for cross-functional partners including US Field Medical, Global Medical, Clinical Development, Epidemiology, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial, and Market Access
- Collaborate with global, regional, and affiliate medical teams to align activities with global medical strategy
- Provide insights to local commercial teams to align plans with medical strategy
- Build and nurture relationships with KMEs, healthcare institutions, and advocacy groups in SMA and ALS
- Contribute to development and adaptation of medical materials, presentations, training materials, medical briefs, and talking points
- Organize and facilitate Advisory Board meetings
- Contribute to congress deliverables and data-generation initiatives
- Report to the Medical Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD, PhD, PharmD or comparable advanced degree is required
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
- Substitution of industry work with relevant clinical practice experience in Rare Disease may be considered
- Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in SMA, ALS, and/or Rare Disease is optimal
- Experience developing Evidence Generation plan, including real-world and post-marketing data generation
- Experience with medical launch as well as products at various stages of the lifecycle
- Strong working knowledge of US regulations as relevant to Medical Affairs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with global, regional and/or affiliate medical teams
- Ability to manage projects and take initiative to solve complex and challenging problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations
