About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process regular and off-cycle US payroll, including collecting payroll inputs and calculating payroll to ensure timely payment to employees.
- Ensure payroll transactions comply with internal policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Make timely tax payments and file required documents.
- Provide backup support to team members and participate in knowledge sharing.
- Maintain process documentation and suggest efficiency and systems optimization improvements.
- Resolve employee and stakeholder tickets and requests promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments on payroll-related projects and initiatives.
- Support Canada payroll processing as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in finance, accounting, management, or equivalent professional payroll training/coursework.
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Understanding of US payroll tax laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to payroll.
- Competence in auditing payroll records and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in managing the execution of defined actions and monitoring completion with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work Eastern Standard hours.
- E-Verify employment authorization context in the United States.
