About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for fluids, vials, and softgel capsules, focusing on quality, supply security, and cost optimization
Coordinate relevant procurement activities within the GMP organization
Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Finance, and Legal across the supply chain
Build and further develop a qualified and resilient supplier network, including single-source management and supply risk assessment
Prepare and coordinate RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for materials, packaging materials, and services
Systematically evaluate bids, particularly for vial- and fluid-related packaging materials and CMOs/CDMOs
Independently negotiate prices, terms and conditions, and contracts, including Supply Agreements
Ensure that quality requirements and Quality Agreements are taken into account
Analyze procurement markets, trends, cost drivers, and supply risks
Conduct value analyses and TCO calculations, and implement cost-reduction programs while ensuring GMP/GDP-compliant supply

Requirements

What you’ll need

7–10 years of professional experience, ideally including 5–6 years in strategic or tactical procurement within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or life sciences sector
Successfully completed degree, e.g., in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Pharmacy, or Chemistry, or an equivalent qualification
Familiarity with the fundamentals of GMP/GDP and an understanding of pharmaceutical supplier qualification
Experience in negotiations, contract drafting, and coordinating with Quality Agreements
Proficiency in market analysis, sourcing strategy approaches, and cost methodologies such as TCO
Independent, results-oriented, and highly compliance-focused approach to work
Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
