About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage multiple construction and small projects throughout the chain
Plan, budget, review plans, create bid documents, monitor construction, and close out assigned projects
Manage the full design, plan review, construction, and documentation of assigned projects
Develop plans, solicit qualified contractors, award and manage new Club, gas station, and remodel construction projects
Work closely with contractors, club operations, and field team members
Manage project schedules, costs, and quality
Measure contractor and supplier performance
Maintain and enhance BJ’s list of qualified contractors
Provide contract management and coordinate developers, project managers, construction companies, and suppliers
Coordinate internal resources during construction
Resolve conflicts with contractors, club management, and town officials
Implement club standards and ensure quality workmanship and communication
Collaborate with Club Operations, Procurement, Maintenance, Store Design, and other internal departments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management required
Minimum of 5 years experience in construction management as a project manager required
Strong knowledge of AIA documents, construction bidding methods and construction management
Big box and/or supermarket retail experience preferred
Experience in remodeling open businesses, building from the ground up and building takeovers
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate up, down and across the organization
Proficient in Word, Xcel and PP
Ability to travel 50–70%
