About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assume technical responsibility for the Facilities Monitoring and Control System (FMCS)
- Operate, monitor, and continuously optimize the FMCS to ensure uninterrupted factory operations
- Maintain, diagnose, and modify SCADA and PLC systems, particularly Siemens WinCC OA, Yokogawa DCS Centum, and Siemens S7 controllers
- Analyze and resolve faults, alarms, and communication issues affecting utility and production equipment
- Perform loop checks, signal testing, and troubleshooting on field devices, instruments, and automation components
- Integrate new data points, visualizations, reports, and alarm concepts
- Ensure that technical documentation is kept up to date
- Serve as the technical point of contact for external service providers, suppliers, and auditors
- Support qualification activities, acceptance testing, and change control processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, with further qualification as a state-certified technician, or a completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a comparable field
- Several years of hands-on experience with industrial SCADA and PLC systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally in operations, maintenance, or commissioning
- In-depth knowledge of Siemens S7 controllers (TIA Portal / STEP 7)
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment in operation
- Experience with SCADA systems, ideally Siemens WinCC OA or Yokogawa DCS Centum
- Practical experience with field instrumentation, loop checks, and signal diagnostics
- Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and I/O lists
- Structured, self-directed approach to work with a strong commitment to quality
- Very good English skills; German language skills are an advantage
