About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the SCADA system (Siemens WinCC OA) and Siemens S7-1500 PLCs
- Participate in loop checks, tracing signals from field devices through I/O and PLCs to operator screens
- Confirm commands move valves, dampers and actuators
- Investigate and resolve alarms and faults during commissioning and live operation
- Support instrument calibration checks and field-signal troubleshooting
- Build datapoints, screens, trends and reports
- Keep documentation up to date
- Gradually take on greater system responsibility
- Collaborate with experienced colleagues, facility teams and IT teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician for Automation Technology plus further training as a state-certified technician (Techniker), or comparable qualification; alternatively, a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field, or comparable
- 2–3 years of professional experience with initial hands-on exposure
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming and/or SCADA, ideally in a Siemens environment (S7 / TIA Portal, WinCC OA)
- Solid foundation on comparable platforms and willingness to learn the employer's systems
- Curiosity about large automation systems, from field instrument to operator screen
- Eagerness to learn loop checks, diagnostics and commissioning
- Careful, team-oriented way of working
- Good command of English; German is an advantage
