About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop innovative automation solutions for utility-scale renewable energy projects
Independently design, develop, and maintain engineering tools, custom software, scripts, data pipelines, and AI-enabled workflows
Collaborate with civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, and electrical studies teams to identify automation opportunities
Solve complex technical challenges and simplify engineering workflows
Lead automation initiatives from concept through deployment
Integrate new technologies, improve data accuracy, reduce manual processes, and enhance engineering quality
Automate engineering workflows supporting project design, estimating, and project execution
Develop and maintain tools and applications end-to-end using development standards, Git, and code-review practices
Translate engineering, estimating, and proposal needs into technical requirements and solution designs
Interface with data pipelines, APIs, databases, and system integrations moving project, design, quantity, and cost data
Implement AI and machine learning capabilities, including LLM workflows, document review, and data extraction

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required, including two (2) years of code-writing experience
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Minimal travel required
Experience in mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers or developers is preferred
Experience automating engineering, design, or estimating workflows is preferred
Previous engineering or construction-related experience in a related industry is preferred; renewables-focused experience is a plus
Experience developing engineering automation tools, custom software, scripts, and data-driven solutions
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, C#, or similar languages
Experience integrating engineering software and automating technical workflows
Must hold valid, independent work authorization; Blattner is unable to sponsor H-1B visas or permanent residency
