About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Legal Engineering by setting its direction, priorities, standards, and team growth
  • Shape legal and regulatory requirements into reliable, scalable AI review
  • Represent Blee externally through speaking, writing, events, and thought leadership on AI, legal, and compliance
  • Work with customers’ legal and compliance teams to understand content analysis requirements and translate them into AI evaluation
  • Enable Implementation and Customer Success teams with legal and compliance context
  • Measure and continuously improve AI review accuracy and reliability
  • Keep legal logic current with changing regulations, customer guidance, and best practices
  • Partner with Product to represent legal and compliance needs in product development
  • Set standards and best practices for consistent, high-quality, scalable legal work
  • Support the in-house legal team with company legal matters, including reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Collaborate with product, implementation, customer success, AI engineering, and legal teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • JD and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of legal experience, including significant work in advertising and marketing law, consumer protection, or regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on experience reviewing marketing and advertising materials for claims, disclosures, and substantiation
  • Working knowledge of FTC advertising and endorsement guidance, UDAP/UDAAP, FINRA 2210, the SEC Marketing Rule, and Reg Z/DD
  • Real experience using AI in legal work
  • Strong analytical and writing record; ability to explain complex legal reasoning in structured, plain language
  • Experience leading people or cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to work in person from the San Francisco or New York City office at least 3 days a week, with anchoring days Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States
  • No employment visa sponsorship available
