About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own Blissway’s financial and operational engine as an individual contributor reporting directly to the founder and CEO
- Handle vendor onboarding, contract records, and day-to-day business logistics
- Improve processes that slow the team down
- Deliver monthly budget-versus-actual reporting and cash forecasts to founders
- Flag gaps, risks, and opportunities proactively
- Invoice customers accurately and on time, including milestone and contract-based public-agency billing
- Follow up on receivables until payment
- Pay vendors with clear approvals and maintain clean vendor records, including W-9s and 1099s
- Own monthly close, including bank and card reconciliations, accruals, and accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Manage non-tolling agreements from drafting through signature and renewal, including leases, vendor agreements, service agreements, NDAs, and other company contracts
- Negotiate standard contract terms and involve outside counsel when needed
- Track contract obligations and renewal dates
- Run payroll in Rippling and keep payroll tax filings current
- Manage ICHRA, 401(k), life and disability coverage, Colorado FAMLI premiums, and leave coordination
- Own business insurance renewals and customer certificates of insurance
- Maintain a compliance calendar for filings, registrations, and renewals
- Partner with the outside CPA firm on tax and year-end work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extreme ownership and outcomes-focused approach
- Ability to analyze P&Ls, bank feeds, and aging reports
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and explain financial issues
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to proactively identify financial, operational, compliance, and cash-flow gaps
- Ability to build finance processes, automate recurring work, document processes, and establish controls
- Strong attention to detail across payroll, vendor payments, invoices, filings, and renewals
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Comfort with automations, integrations, and AI tools
- Familiarity with accounting or prior experience closing the books, or accounting studies and readiness to own the function
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, not a requirement
- Experience billing public agencies or government contracts is a bonus
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Denver
- Ability to work in the USA; application asks whether visa sponsorship will be required
