About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead finance technology transformation at Block
  • Own the architecture and scaling of the technology stack supporting Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and FP&A
  • Embed AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and GitHub Copilot into daily development workflows
  • Design and maintain data models and solution architectures across Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP
  • Architect, build, and support integrations between accounting systems, data lakes, and internal applications using SQL, PL/SQL, REST, SOAP, and JSON
  • Identify system inefficiencies and deploy automation to scale financial workflows
  • Translate accounting principles and business requirements into scalable technical designs and comprehensive documentation
  • Partner with business leaders, product managers, and data engineers to deliver enterprise solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and supporting Oracle FAH, GL, SLA, and BIP
  • Strong proficiency in relational databases, advanced SQL/PL/SQL, and web services (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting process transformations, financial data modeling, and end-to-end solution architecture
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational dependencies and break down technical debt into streamlined, automated processes
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) (nice to have)
  • Experience with peripheral financial modules such as Tax and FCCS (nice to have)
  • Previous experience in fintech, banking, or cryptocurrency platforms (nice to have)
  • Ability to advise senior leaders on Oracle and in-house solutions
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Data Engineering, Product Management, and Integration teams
