About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the overall technical strategy of the Cash App Banking server engineering team
- Drive cross-cutting architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements for robust, scalable systems
- Foster the growth of aspiring engineers and expand their scope of influence
- Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leads to develop, communicate, and execute technical strategies

Requirements
What you’ll need- 12+ years of software development or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience leading large scale features, including planning, managing and executing project delivery while maintaining a high quality bar
- Experience identifying, aligning and landing globally optimal solutions in systems with many moving parts
- Ability to design and build creative solutions to complex problems
- Strong track record in helping other engineers grow
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Java and Kotlin
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with HTTP, JSON, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers
- Experience with OkHttp, Jetty, JUnit, and Guice
- Experience with Hibernate, Aurora, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis
- Experience with Kafka, event-driven architecture, and microservices
- Experience with DataDog, Buildkite, and Gradle
