About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and scale the non-horticultural stock planning function and strategy from scratch
- Lead the team in maintaining optimal stock levels across all sites while minimising waste and holding costs
- Collaborate with Warehouse teams and Strategic Procurement Managers to optimise supply efficiency and reliability
- Develop scalable, custom, automated supply chain and inventory tools
- Develop AI workflows to eliminate manual data entry and calculation tasks
- Lead agile, spreadsheet-based solutions and map transitions to robust long-term systems
- Develop standardised processes and frameworks
- Lead weekly KPI reviews and establish proactive inventory and risk management
- Provide oversight, coaching, and mentorship to stock planners
- Build internal succession and team resilience
- Support new range launches by ensuring operational infrastructure can handle increased SKU counts
- Collaborate with the commercial team to right-size inventory, protect availability, de-risk peak periods, and release trapped cash
- Develop third-party relationships with charities and discounters to manage excess stock
- Support planning and execution during issues and peak periods
- Measure and manage 3PW partner performance against agreed SLA terms
- Build operational performance reporting and supplier tiering
- Implement initiatives to improve supplier performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in a procurement, purchasing, supply chain or supply planning role
- Experience leading a team
- Proven track record in supply chain scalability
- Experience managing exponential growth of SKUs using technology and automation
- Strong capabilities in building automated tools using G-suite and other platforms
- Experience leveraging AI to increase impact
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Ability to foster a performance culture centered around accountability and ownership of results
- Effective stakeholder management
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to identify system limitations and establish continuous feedback loops
- Proactive and hands-on approach
- Commercially and data-driven
