About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own quality for systems moving high volumes of customer data in real time across integrations
Design and own black-box, API-level, integration, and end-to-end test automation for Data Pipeline services, especially imports
Build and maintain automated test suites in GitLab CI/CD that gate deployments and catch regressions
Read Go/Python pipeline code to find gaps and design meaningful test cases
Drive test strategy in grooming and design reviews, including test types, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and failure modes
Pair with the current Data Pipeline QA to spread automation and code-adjacent testing practices
Use telemetry and reproduction to turn production incidents into automated regression tests
Understand tracking, imports, exports, and end-to-end data flows
Support quality improvements across the Data Pipeline core
Collaborate with developers on shared quality ownership
Deliver automated integration or end-to-end suites for imports flows and wire them into CI
Own the quality posture of the imports domain and improve pipeline coverage, CI feedback speed, and release confidence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Write test automation in code, including integration and API tests in CI, using Python, Go, or a similar language
Read backend/pipeline code in Go or Python well enough to identify gaps and cross-component risks
Experience owning black-box, API, and integration/end-to-end automation
Willingness to work primarily in code and automation
Comfortable participating in grooming and design from day one, with a shift-left mindset
Ability to learn and adapt across a large codebase and data domain
Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment
Fluent use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or Gemini CLI
Prior backend exposure preferred
ETL/data-pipeline testing experience preferred
Experience testing Kafka, GCP, or BigQuery systems preferred
Familiarity with Robot Framework, Playwright, Postman, or other API testing tools preferred
