About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop features used by thousands of customers
Build and maintain platform and admin services supporting Bloomreach SaaS products
Build central services for Model Context Protocol APIs for external AI agents
Develop customer provisioning and licensing orchestration services
Maintain user management, authentication, and authorization systems
Build high-availability centralized configuration management
Create tools for customer integration and product tuning
Design, build, and deploy complete projects
Review teammate GitLab merge requests
Create technical design documents and collaborate on designs through Zoom
Improve logging and alerting for high-uptime components
Write unit tests, create merge requests, deploy development instances, and perform smoke tests
Advise teams on authorization API integration
Collaborate with product managers to refine technical proposals and prioritize features
Break down work into Jira tasks and coordinate task ownership with teammates
Support high-reliability production deployments and knowledge sharing

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years developing backend services with Python using a variety of data systems
Active user of AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code
Understanding of web security principles, including OWASP, authentication, and authorization practices
Experience designing APIs for a SaaS product
Experience operating services in production on public cloud infrastructure
Some experience with Java / Spring or Go
Exposure to web frontend development with Angular / React
Ability to work across distributed cloud environments and varied technology stacks
Ability to organize technical work across multiple teams, geographic regions, and departments
Proactively share expertise, guide less experienced team members, and document work
Experience with Python, Java / Spring, Go, TypeScript, Angular, React, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, GitLab CI/CD, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch
