About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, configure and support LAN, WAN and VoIP networks
  • Maintain systems, applications, network configurations and network availability
  • Troubleshoot, isolate and resolve network performance issues
  • Research, recommend and perform upgrades and patches
  • Implement new applications and equipment
  • Configure and provide operational support for Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and Nexus platforms
  • Configure and manage routing protocols, firewall security policies, Cisco ISE RBAC policies and load-balancing rules
  • Deploy physical and virtual SD-WAN setups and integrate them with Azure
  • Implement and manage Azure connectivity and networking
  • Manage, troubleshoot and provision Azure VNets and subnets through Terraform or Azure PowerShell
  • Identify root causes and hardware problems through log investigation
  • Report and investigate anomalies
  • Monitor network availability and performance
  • Review critical links for utilization and error thresholds
  • Review configurations against standards documents and NAS configuration policy
  • Install, configure, maintain and manage network security systems, access controls, firewalls and related products
  • Open and follow up on carrier, vendor and trouble tickets; coordinate repairs and close tickets within SLA
  • Review Syslog status documentation
  • Respond to infrastructure system issues and fulfill service requests
  • Prioritize workload and resolve technical issues and roadblocks
  • Maintain documentation and positive working relationships across departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or engineering related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8+ years of combined related work experience
  • Good experience in Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Nexus platforms
  • Experience with Nexus switches, NSX-T/NSX-V, NSX Edge, NSX logical router, NSX Load balancer and NSX distributed Firewall
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols, firewall security policies/rules, Cisco ISE RBAC policies, load balancing rules and SSL client-server configurations
  • Experience deploying SD-WAN and integrating it with Azure
  • Experience managing Azure connectivity and networking, including ExpressRoute, DNS, IP allocation, traffic routing, NSGs and Azure Firewall
  • Experience with Azure VNET and subnet management, provisioning via Terraform or Azure PowerShell
  • Understanding of IPS/IDS technologies
  • Experience with enterprise VoIP and telephone system maintenance and management
  • Proven knowledge of cloud, virtualization and network security
  • Strong experience with routing/switching, firewall, content filtering, RADIUS, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, wireless, VPN and WAAS
  • Ability to work with different technologies and take on new technology responsibilities
  • CCNA, CCNP or public cloud certification are good to have
  • Preferred experience with public, private and hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN remote implementation, troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds and NetMon
  • Proficiency designing and implementing load balancing solutions
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog
  • Experience with NSX network and security virtualization and enterprise micro-segmentation
  • Extensive hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IS-IS, STP, ECMP and vPC
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewall technologies
  • Experience with ISE, IDS, IPS and WAF
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, TACACS+, LDAP/RADIUS Server and Cisco ACS Server authentication
  • Experience implementing Palo Alto SD-WAN
  • Experience with Agile development methods and Python, Ansible, Perl or Shell
  • Ability to interact with various levels of professionals
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to act independently to drive IT goals and changes
  • Advanced troubleshooting methodology
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust workload accordingly
