About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the bank’s total compensation strategy, balancing market competitiveness, internal equity, and financial sustainability.
  • Define and implement compensation policies aligned with the organizational strategy.
  • Manage fixed and variable compensation programs, including bonuses, incentives, and awards (PLR, PPR, and LTI).
  • Lead salary competitiveness studies and market surveys (Mercer, Korn Ferry, WTW), translating findings into positioning recommendations.
  • Design, implement, and monitor variable compensation programs, including vesting, targets, and deferral.
  • Manage the job and salary structure, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness through the Mercer IPE methodology.
  • Conduct job evaluations using the Mercer IPE methodology and manage salary ranges and placement.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership in compensation-related decisions.
  • Develop and monitor short-term incentive (STI) and long-term incentive (LTI) metrics related to performance and compensation.
  • Integrate compensation metrics with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation and corporate policies.
  • Report to the HR Superintendency.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Psychology, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree/MBA in Compensation, Finance, or People Management preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Compensation & Benefits, including leadership and team management experience.
  • Advanced Excel and BI tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Knowledge of compensation regulations for financial institutions (CMN/BACEN), deferral, malus, and clawback provisions.
  • Strong knowledge of job evaluation and classification using the Mercer methodology (IPE structures).
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and monitoring PPR, PLR, bonus, and LTI programs.
  • Experience in banks or regulated institutions is a plus.
