About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define treatment strategies by product, customer segment, delinquency bucket, and risk profile.
  • Structure policies for renegotiation, discounts, installment plans, and the recovery of delinquent contracts, optimizing negotiation authority levels to balance recovery, profitability, and risk.
  • Continuously develop and review preventive collection, administrative collection, and credit recovery policies.
  • Analyze cure rates, roll rates, net recovery, contactability, payment promises, channel effectiveness, cohort and vintage studies, and portfolio behavior.
  • Anticipate portfolio deterioration trends.
  • Use statistical techniques and analytical tools to develop predictive models for recovery, payment propensity, renegotiation, and contactability.
  • Segment customers and prioritize portfolios.
  • Develop machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automation initiatives applied to collections.
  • Conduct A/B tests and pilot new strategies, measuring their impact and financial returns.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and business cases for new recovery initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Modeling, Product, Legal, Compliance, Technology, Data, and Operations teams.
  • Support executive forums and Credit and Collections committees through analyses and executive presentations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Graduate degree, MBA, or specialization in Risk, Credit, Finance, Analytics, or Management is a plus.
  • Experience in collections, credit recovery, collection strategies, credit, or portfolio management within financial institutions.
  • Experience defining recovery, renegotiation, and portfolio segmentation policies, with solid knowledge of collections performance indicators.
  • Knowledge of loss provisioning (PDD/ECL) and the impact of collection strategies on business results.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Advanced Excel, Python, SAS, Databricks, or data science platforms.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a strategic and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to translate data into executive recommendations, with a proactive, ownership-driven approach and strong problem-solving skills.
